DISPUTE

A person reported Jan. 31 that a large Dumpster was placed in front of the rear fire-exit door of his business on Buffalo Grove Road due to building maintenance. The contracting company was notified and arrangements for its removal were made.

FIRE ASSIST

Officers responded to a fire alarm at 1:34 p.m. Jan. 31 to a business on the 1000 block of Johnson Drive. The manager stated a cardboard box near a welding machine ignited. Buffalo Grove firefighters responded and extinguished the fire without incident. All employees were able to return to work.

HARASSMENT

A complainant reported being harassed by a former friend/employee on Facebook on Jan. 31. The complainant said no threats were made, but that harassing messages were being left. The complainant believed the offender was in town at a local business. Officers responded to the business and spoke with the offender. Both parties involved were advised to cease all communication.

The driver was directed to contact the police department prior to the repossession. The driver understood and left the area.

VANDALISM

Sorry, but your boyfriend won't get any sympathy from me.

These offenses put the safety of the public at risk. Someone under the influence of drugs or alcohol (or both) gets behind the wheel of a car and innocent people get killed. Aggravated DUI is a FELONY. These are not mistakes--just pure stupidity.

I didn't see the arrest, so I will not comment on any alleged brutality by the police, but you shouldn't be making threats aimed towards the police. Also, making accusations against the police does nothing to reduce the sentence.

Face it, your boyfriend is going to be in jail for quite a while.
