Police Blotter: Driver Struck with Filled Garbage Bag

BURGLARY

A resident of the 200 block of Forest Place reported finding the side garage door open at 7 a.m. Nov. 11. The door was closed previously. The resident then found that someone had taken the navigation system from his car.

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 1100 block of Parker Lane reported a man going door to door at 7:40 a.m. Nov. 11. It was unknown what that subject was soliciting. Officers located employees and asphalt company personnel in the area repairing the street. None of them noted a person going door to door. The area was checked with negative results.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A driver stated that she stopped her car to pick up a bag of garbage that was lying in the roadway at 11:05 a.m. Nov. 11 at Bristol Lane and Fremont Way. When she placed the bag on the curb, a resident came out and threw the bag of garbage back at the driver, striking her in the chest with the bag. Yuliana Zisman, 24, of the 1200 block of Bristol Lane, was charged with disorderly conduct.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone or something caused two deep scratches on the hood of a fire truck and cracked its windshield between Nov. 9 and Nov. 11 at the , 505 W. Dundee Road.

Someone poked a dime-size hole in the vinyl siding of a home on the 500 block of Indian Spring Lane between Oct. 13 and Nov. 12.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENTS

A resident of the 400 block of Parkview Terrance reported finding her garage door standing open when she returned home at 9:20 p.m. Nov. 11. Officers checked the house and found everything in order and no one inside.

A resident of the 100 block of Bernard Drive reported hearing a loud bang outside of the house at 4:10 p.m. Nov. 12. The resident found a smoking water bottle on his front lawn. The resident did not see anyone who may have thrown what appeared to be a MacGyver bomb.

A resident of the 400 block of Gregg Lane reported at 3:55 p.m. Nov. 13 that two people were sitting in a car that had been parked on the street for the past 90 minutes. An officer spoke with the occupants, who were a resident and his girlfriend. They were talking.

A complainant reported that he and his girlfriend were parked and talking at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 on the 1400 block of Barclay Boulevard, when a man with a flashlight approached the car. The man asked for the complainant’s driver’s license and said he would be right back. The man was described as wearing a dark-colored shirt with a red or gold badge/emblem on the right breast area. He never returned.

THEFT

Someone took the company gas grill and aluminum scrap between 8:20 p.m. Nov. 7 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 8 from behind a building on the 1600 block of Leider Lane.

A resident reported Nov. 11 that she was notified by a state contractor that two of their computers had been stolen and that her son’s identity may be jeopardized. The son then received a letter from a credit union in Colorado indicating that he has an account with them. The resident will follow up with the credit union.

Someone took a green scooter between Nov. 9 and Nov. 10 from the front porch of a home on the 200 block of Willow Parkway.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A resident reported a young child lying on a patio and screaming at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 11. An officer went to the home and spoke with the resident. The resident stated that her daughter had been misbehaving and went out to the patio and refused to come inside. The officer spoke with the girl and two other children who all appeared to be fine.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident of the 100 block of Willow Parkway reported that a white van pulled into his driveway at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and a Hispanic man wearing white overalls told him that he was trimming trees in the area. The man then asked the resident if anyone else lived in the home, the resident said yes, his son who is a police officer. The man then said he needed to get business cards from the van, got in and drove off. The house was checked thoroughly and nothing was missing.
