Police Blotter: But Officer, It's a Different Dog

ALCOHOL

Joseph T. Slaughter, 26, of the 4400 block of Tujunga Avenue, Radio City, Calif., was charged with driving under the influence and speeding at 9:55 p.m. Jan. 2, on Half Day Road at Waterbury Lane.

ANIMALS

A resident of the 100 block of North Buffalo Grove Road reported at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 3 that his neighbor’s dog had been barking for 15 minutes. A court order issued in November required the neighbor to remove the dog from the building. An officer went to the neighbor’s unit and could hear the dog barking. The officer spoke with the neighbor, who stated that this was a different dog than the one mentioned in the court order. A citation was issued.

A resident of Whitehall Court found a silver Mongoose Rebel bicycle at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 3 at the fence line near . The bike was placed into property at the police station.

Someone spray-painted a symbol on the side of a house between 2 p.m. Jan. 2 and 4:10 p.m. Jan. 3 on the 1200 block of Johnson Drive. 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A citizen reported a package in front of a bank at 7:05 a.m. Jan. 3 on the 100 block of McHenry Road. The package appeared to have batteries attached. It was determined that the item was a holiday decoration.
