New Assistant Principal Named for Twin Groves

Andrew Fenton will begin his new role Aug. 1.

will gain a new assistant principal in the fall. The School Board approved Tuesday the appointment of Andrew Fenton, who will assume the role Aug. 1

Fenton replaces Amy Gluck, who will assume the responsibilities of principal, a position currently held by Jennifer Brown.

With almost a decade of experience as an educator, Fenton was selected for the assistant principal role from among highly qualified and experienced candidates, said District 96 officials, who said “he brings a reputation for reliability, strong interpersonal and tech skills, and an enviable ability to connect with students and staff.”

Fenton earned a master’s degree in school leadership in 2009 from Concordia University and his undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College in 2003.

He is currently in his second year as assistant principal at W. J. Murphy Elementary School in Round Lake Area School District 116. Previously, he taught seventh-grade language arts at Northbrook School District 31’s Field Middle School and taught seventh-grade social studies, language arts, reading and science at the Chicago International Charter School – West Belden Campus.

“Mr. Fenton’s knowledge regarding Common Core Standards and his strong literacy background are assets that will certainly benefit our students and teachers,” Twin Groves Principal Heather Friziellie said in a statement. “His positive attitude and enthusiasm also make him a great fit for Twin Groves Middle School.”
