Man Causes Disturbance Over Twinkie Policy

A customer at Buffalo Grove's Jewel sparked a call to police after he tried to purchase more Twinkies than the store allowed.

A Buffalo Grove Jewel customer intent on stocking up on Twinkies Tuesday was upset to learn that the store had set a purchase limit for Hostess treats.

A Buffalo Grove police report states that a man “was making a disturbance” in the grocery store at 9:10 p.m. Dec. 11 because an official would not allow him to buy a large quantity of Twinkies.

The store had set a limit of 10 Twinkies per person. Jewel announced Monday on its Facebook page that its stores were about to receive “what may be the FINAL shipment of Twinkies in the country.”
