Ivy Hall School to Welcome New Principal
Amy Gluck will take the school's helm on Aug. 1. She replaces Principal Jenny Brown.
Amy Gluck will be Ivy Hall Elementary School's next principal, School District 96 officials decided this week.
School Board members unanimously approved the appointment of Gluck. She will replace Principal Jenny Brown, who is moving out of state this year.
Gluck will assume her new role on Aug. 1. A former third- and fourth-grade teacher and reading specialist at Ivy Hall, Gluck currently serves as assistant principal at Twin Groves Middle School.
Gluck was chosen from a field of 14 candidates, who were interviewed by District 96 administrators. A graduate of Stevenson High School and Indiana University, where she earned her bachelor's in education, Gluck earned her master’s degree with a language and literacy concentration from National Louis University.
She worked in Mundelein at Fremont and Carl Sandburg Middle Schools before coming to District 96 in 1997 to teach third grade at Willow Grove Elementary School, before moving on to assignments at Ivy Hall and Country Meadows elementary schools.
Gluck's "experience in mentoring and supporting teacher colleagues in the curricular areas of reading and literacy make her a valuable resource for faculty members' professional development," according to a District 96 press release.
