Cook County Residents Invited to Property Tax Appeal Workshop
The event takes place Aug. 20, which is the last day for Wheeling Township residents to file appeals.
Cook County residents interested in appealing their property tax bills are invited to attend a workshop from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Indian Trails Public Library.
“I am frustrated with unfair property tax hikes,” said State Rep. Carol Sente, who is sponsoring the workshop. “While so many families in our area are struggling during these difficult economic times, homeowners’ pain should not be made worse by higher property taxes.”
Aug. 20 is the last day Wheeling Township property owners can file for a property tax appeal. Residents must bring a copy of their current assessment notice to the meeting and can research their property and similar properties online at www.cookcountyassessor.com.
