Chowdown Showdown: Vote for BG's Best Sandwich

Votes will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday.

Buffalo Grove, you sure know your sandwiches!

After we asked Monday for nominations for BG's best sandwich, suggestions poured in for four restaurants in the village. Many of you included great descriptions of your favorite sandwiches, too. Thanks for sharing your passion with the community!

Now that the nominees are in, it's time to vote on this week's winner.

Cast your vote before 5 p.m. Thursday in the poll below, which includes Buffalo Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor, The Continental, Dorfler's Meat Market and Original Bagel & Bialy.

The Chowdown Showdown Sandwich Champion will be announced Friday morning. May the best sandwich win!

Dorfler's by far exceeds these other places for sandwiches and meats! My kids call the marinated skirt steaks "Juicy Steaks" Some of our friend's kids are very Picky eaters, but when presented with "Juicy Steaks" their plates are clean! Boar's head cold cuts which Dorfler's serves are far superior to others!.. Mike Steinberger Lake Forest, President Deerpath Insurance www.Deerpathinsurance.com

Boars Head...you can get that stuff anywhere...and it is filled with preservatives! Their skirt steaks are yummy but that is not a sandwich to us...fresh hot corned beef on a homemade bagel...now that is a sandwich!

Original Bagel & Bialygets my vote. I enjoy several sandwiches there, including lox & bagel and roast beef on a bagel.
