Buffalo Grove maintains a bank of applications, called the talent bank, submitted by persons interested in volunteer service on a village board, committee or commission.

When a vacancy occurs on a particular board, committee, or commission, the village president reviews the pertinent talent bank applications and chooses from among those applicants for candidate interviews.

The village benefits from the contributions of volunteers serving on  active boards, committees and commissions, including the arts commission, the commission for residents with disabilitie, the emergency management agency and many others.
