Four Stevenson High School students received recognition in the Illinois Association of Teachers of English annual Poetry and Prose Writing Contest.

Adele Padgett and Adithi Rao were named winners in the prose category. Padgett wrote a piece entitled "1=2" and Rao authored "Hope." Their teacher is Dr. Stephen Heller.

Zachary Petricca earned runner-up honors in poetry with "Flower Child," while Maddie Levin received honorable mention in poetry with "She Goes Every Saturday." Their teacher is Elizabeth Maxwell-Carlson.
